Star Wars: Machete Method. What Now?
So you've read my previous post and now you wanna know: What's next? Isn't there a lot more movies, tv shows, books, comics, toys, games, tech, tie-in cereals, etc?
Wow, you really like Star Wars.
I say go for it! There is no wrong way to enjoy your fandom. You like the comics? But not the tv shows? Whatever floats your landspeeder!
I would recommend watching the rest of the movies, however. And that's where things get fun (for me). What order to you watch the rest in, knowing that they all aren't out, yet?
I, personally, think it will benefit the story to watch The Force Awakens (VII), Rogue One, then The Last Jedi (VIII). If you can wait a few more weeks, I'd recommend Solo first, then VII, Rogue, and VIII.
Even though Rogue and Solo are both technically in different places in the timeline of the story, I think this order serves the audience and the story. Rogue can really go anywhere among these movies, and one can argue that it should be before VII or at the end, or even before A New Hope. One thing I think should not be an option is skipping it. Not only is it a great movie, it expands on the non-Skywalker saga part of the universe. Solo is still up for debate, as it isn't out yet.
So get cracking! VII and VIII are the priorities, but you've got time before IX comes out (December of 2019) so come on in, stay awhile. Enjoy yourself and some fun movies. This fandom isn't going anywhere.
Maybe you'll even watch The Phantom Menace.
