New Fandom Alert: Dark

New Fandom Alert: Dark

Wondering what to binge this weekend? I highly recommend Netflix's German series, Dark. It's a bit of reading if you aren't fluent in German, but it's well worth it.

Comparing it to another hit Netflix show, Stranger Things, both helps and does a bit of a disservice to Dark. Both shows start off echoing each other; a kid in a small town goes missing. Lights flicker. Odd (maybe even strange) things are happening.

They both also have awesome opening credits.

Then Dark goes, well, darker. Stranger Things you can see with your (not young) kids. Dark you cannot. The show is meant to be watched at night, with the lights off, loudly yelling theories at the screen.

Although Dark isn't brand new (released on December 1, 2017), the fandom around the show is just beginning to blossom as more and more people (myself included) discover the series. Season 2 was announced at the end of 2017, and filming begins later this summer. I expect a 2019 release for Season 2, which fits perfectly with the story. So start watching this weekend and let me know what you think below!
